Case Study: Healthcare SaaS Platform

The Challenge

The Indiana First Step Program operated through paper-based processes and disconnected spreadsheets to manage hundreds of participant cases across multiple service providers. Case workers spent excessive time on administrative documentation, compliance reporting, and inter-agency coordination—time that should have been spent on direct client services.

HIPAA compliance requirements added significant complexity, as any digital solution would need to meet strict federal healthcare data privacy standards. The system also needed to integrate with existing state government databases and generate standardized reports for federal funding compliance.

The Solution

We built INFSP as a HIPAA-compliant SaaS platform using Laravel and Vue.js, hosted on AWS with all necessary security controls including encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, and role-based access control. The case management module supports the full participant journey from enrollment through service delivery and outcome tracking.

Automated reporting generates federally required compliance documents on schedule, while the analytics dashboard gives program administrators real-time visibility into outcomes, service utilization, and program effectiveness metrics.
