Case Study: TrekNTread Ecommerce Platform

The Challenge

TrekNTread wanted to expand their outdoor gear business beyond direct-to-consumer sales by enabling a network of independent resellers to sell their products under their own branding. This required a sophisticated multi-tier platform architecture where resellers could operate branded storefronts while inventory, fulfillment, and commission tracking remained centralized.

The complexity of the commission calculation system—supporting tiered rates, promotional bonuses, and monthly payouts across hundreds of reseller accounts—required careful architectural planning to ensure accuracy and scalability.

The Solution

We built a dual-platform architecture using Laravel: a consumer-facing ecommerce store and a white-label reseller portal system. Each reseller receives their own subdomain and can customize their storefront's branding while sharing the central product catalog and inventory pool. The commission engine handles complex multi-tier calculations with automated monthly payout processing via Stripe Connect.

Real-time inventory synchronization via Redis ensures no overselling across channels, while the comprehensive analytics dashboard gives TrekNTread visibility into sales performance across all reseller accounts.
