Our client, a growing venture capital firm, was managing complex GP-LP relationships and investor reporting through a patchwork of spreadsheets and disconnected tools. The lack of a unified platform meant deal flow management, portfolio tracking, waterfall calculations, and LP communication were all handled separately, creating data inconsistencies and consuming excessive staff time.

Investor reporting required manual data aggregation from multiple sources, making quarterly reports time-consuming and error-prone. The firm needed a purpose-built SaaS solution that could handle the nuanced financial calculations unique to venture capital, while providing LPs with a professional, transparent portal.

The Solution

HurdleHub was built as a comprehensive back-office SaaS platform using Laravel and Vue.js, deployed on AWS for scalability and security. The platform features an investor portal with real-time portfolio visibility, automated waterfall calculations, and customizable reporting dashboards for both GPs and LPs.

The RESTful API architecture enabled seamless integration with existing financial data sources, while the custom UX was designed specifically for the mental models of VC professionals. Data migration from legacy systems was handled carefully to ensure continuity with historical fund data.
